Priorities
If we can make California work, we provide a model for the nation. We’re starting with California’s biggest challenges to get real results and restore trust in government. We do that by electing common-sense candidates who stand up to special interests.

More Housing
Homes in California cost twice the national average. We face a housing shortage of over 3 million homes—and right now, we’re not even close to building the 180,000 homes a year just to break even.
Here is how we solve the housing crisis and help end homelessness:
-
Cut Red Tape: Streamline permitting processes to make housing faster and cheaper to build.
-
Incentivize Affordable Housing: Prioritize exemptions and streamlining for affordable housing.
-
CEQA Reform: We need to reform the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) so the law protects the environment as intended, without becoming a weapon to stop new housing.
-
Smart Zoning: Rezone commercial land for mixed-use housing and incentivize density near major transit.

Better Schools
California students used to rank in the top five states nationally. Today, they are 40th in Math nationally and 37th in English. Just 4 in 10 California fourth graders read at grade level.

Here is how we solve the education gap:
-
Our Kids Deserve Excellent Teachers With Good Pay: Use tenure to reward good teachers, provide resources to support teacher growth, and make it easier to remove bad employees. Teachers deserve to be paid in line with the importance of their profession on our children’s future.
-
Every Child Should be Reading by Fourth Grade: Increase per-pupil spending and ensure the funds go to the classroom to improve student outcomes.
-
No Child Should Be Trapped: Today wealthy families choose their school, while too many poor kids are trapped by their zip code in poor schools.
-
The Best Education Systems Have Oversight: Hold districts and schools accountable for student performance—and help teachers be successful.

Smarter Government
California is ranked worst in the nation to do business and last in job growth. We pay the highest tax rates in the nation, with little to show for it, and our state budget is among the most volatile in the nation.
Here’s how we build a government that delivers real results for Californians:
-
Smarter Fiscal Policy: We need better financial planning with stronger reserves so the state can weather downturns and ensure all Californians can thrive.
-
More Transparency and Accountability: Track every tax dollar spent and measure state programs on what is working and what isn’t, so we hold politicians accountable.
-
Fix Underperforming Public Services: Address public safety concerns, high housing costs, long commutes, and deteriorating infrastructure.
-
Better Business Climate: High costs, complex regulations, and exorbitant fees hurt businesses, employees, and communities in California.
